The following message is for CDBG funded agencies only. It's extremely short.
Beginning in 2012, FMA workshops will be a requirement for delegate agencies receiving funding from DFSS. In order to provide useful resources to the delegate agencies, a survey has been created. All delegate agencies should complete the survey as soon as possible. The results of the survey will determine the workshops they will be required to attend.
Please click the link if you are a CDBG funded agency:

Also...

As you know, we are still waiting for the final city budget approval, but we wanted to ensure everyone had a copy of DFSS's Youth CDBG timeline. Below this email, you will find the technical assistance sessions discussing the work plans that pertain to your program type. You'll notice OST has 3 days due to the volume of agencies. I highly recommend that you attend a TA session. The people that should attend the TA session should be the Program Coordinator and/or a staff person that works on the program. At that time, we will go through the work plan and answer questions that you may have. A DFSS representative from finance will be there to mention key points to the budget. Your award letter will be sent to you with a link with all the important documents that need to be completed and submitted to DFSS. I will be emailing all of you the work plan that pertains to your program type as soon as it is available. Agency Roundtables will be November 28th through December 9th. Your work plans are due December 16th. The sooner we have them, the quicker we can streamline the contracting process.

Please join us for the following two events that will discuss the topics of building reserves and interpreting financial statements for nonprofit organizations. We hope to see you soon.

Complimentary Event: Maintaining and Building Reserves - November 16, 2011

FMA and Bernstein Global Wealth Management will explore different types of reserves, strategies for managing and investing different types of funds, and frameworks to assist with the decision making process. We will examine the critical questions that nonprofits face in maintaining reserves - How much is enough? How should we invest? What criteria should we use to make these decisions?

FMA Institute Course: Interpreting Financial Statements - November 15, 2011

As funds and budgets are dramatically changing, nonprofit leaders have the unique opportunity to use their financial reports to identify new possibilities and financial strategies and present them to potential funders, their leadership team, and the board. This course will help those staff responsible for preparing financials and telling their organization’s financial story to become confident in translating the numbers and reports.

Course fee is only $99 with the promotion code: FMACH99
