Job Description:
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Specific responsibilities include: recruiting local Y's to participate, tracking and evaluating local metrics, organizing learning sessions, providing on-site training, executing on the knowledge transfer strategy, ensuring consistency during expansion and replication, leading meetings, authoring reports and providing support to the Y movement's Nationwide Campaign.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- A bachelor's degree is required
- A minimum of 5-7 years of development experience is required (2 years in annual fund is required)
- Must be able to travel approximately 50% of the time
- Must possess increasingly responsible annual campaign experience, preferably in a multi-site environment
- Must possess excellent analytical skills, and oral and visual presentation skills (e.g., reports, charts)
- Must possess the ability to develop and manage budgets
- Negotiation, leadership and consensus-building skills are required
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software are required, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of donor database applications and experience with Raiser's Edge software is preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively, frequently with people located offsite
- Must have superior initiative, strategic thinking and problem solving competencies
- Must have excellent communication skills, including written and verbal skills
- Must possess the ability to multi-task and be highly organized; ability to manage complex tasks and schedules
- Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work well with staff at all levels; ability to work both independently and within a team environment (departmental and cross-departmentally)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Travel to YMCA locations nationwide (estimated 50%) to provide consulting, training and other support to regional fundraising campaigns
- Create and deliver presentations, or prepare them for the Chief Development Officer, CEO and/or Board volunteer to deliver, regarding the benefits and status of regional collaborations and their role in the Nationwide Campaign
- Lead training sessions in collaborative fundraising
- Act as expert and manage incoming calls and inquiries from local YMCAs regarding regional collaboration and annual fund development. Provide guidance on both tactical and strategic issues in the annual giving arena
- Facilitate challenging situations with local Y leadership such as collaboratives with significant leadership changes and/or resource issues
- Responsible for the creation and coordination of a system of local YMCA providers to support regional collaborations and the Nationwide Campaign
- Responsible for integration of YMCA State Alliance structure into the development of regional collaborations and the Nationwide Campaign
- Work with the Capacity Building team and Partner YMCAs to identify, cultivate and launch new regional collaborations in fundraising
- Build consensus among local Y leadership to share responsibility for an effective, collaborative fundraising campaign
- Track and provide analysis of regional collaboration budget, key metrics, trends and projections, including comparative and control data.
- Prepare national reports to Y CEOs and executive leadership on the status of these collaborations
- Provide updates on tactical objectives articulated in Y-USA's strategic plan.
- Compile and present data to inform the strategic direction and scope of the Y movement in regional collaborative fundraising.
- Schedule, coordinate, organize and support regional collaborative fundraising meetings (30 regional campaigns covering 60 metropolitan areas to operate by end of 2012)
- Create and organize agendas and collateral materials for regional collaboration meetings and presentations
- Learn and master wealth screening software in both emerging and robust major gift environments. Perform prospect research for Y-USA and local Y's. Rate prospects and provide justification in Raiser's Edge database
- Assist with related projects as needed
EFFECT ON END RESULTS/STRATEGIC IMPACT
The Regional Collaboration Manager will directly contribute to Y-USA's objective of strengthening the Culture of Philanthropy at YMCAs nationwide. By providing support to regional campaigns, the Regional Collaboration Manager will help knit the Y movement together around a shared purpose, and a Nationwide Campaign, while building capacity and reinforcing sustainability in communities nationwide.
Salary: $74,400 - $92,945
