Science, mathematics and technology will again take the center stage in the 2011 Summer@IMSA program line up as students utilize discovery, exploration, and problem-solving in innovative ways. Many of your favorites are returning, like Summer Sleuths, Science Explorers and Energy@IMSA.

These programs are for ALL students entering grades 3 through 10 in fall 2011, who have an interest or passion for math and science.

How to REGISTER:

ONLINE REGISTRATION

  1. Create an account for your student.

    Click HERE for first time registrants.

    (Existing account holders continue to Step 2 below)

    After creating a student account, please return to this page to continue with Step 2.

  2. Click HERE to complete the Registration Form. (Please review our Refund Policy)
  3. Payment is required by credit card or electronic check. (Payments made by electronic check take 6 business days to process. Your confirmation will be forwarded by e-mail after processing.)
  4. Obtain a TEACHER RECOMMENDATION: A Teacher Recommendation MUST be completed to be accepted to any program. Teachers may return the completed recommendation directly to: Summer@IMSA, 1500 Sullivan Rd, Aurora IL 60506, by mail or fax to (630) 907-5880.
  5. Receive acceptance notification: A confirmation e-mail will be forwarded upon processing with "IMSA Confirmation" in the subject line. Additional required forms will be attached.
  6. Submit the signed, additional required forms and student essay by mail or fax as soon as possible. Your child cannot attend without the required forms.
  7. Information regarding specific summer program details will be mailed out in the week prior to the program.
  8. All applications are due Friday, May 27th, 2011. No applications will be accepted after this date.
  9. Wait Lists: If the program for which you are applying is full please feel free to download an Application Form, complete and mail to Summer@IMSA, Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy, 1500 Sullivan Road, Aurora, IL 60506. If a space becomes available we will notify you. The waiting list is date-stamped as received by our offices and we draw from the top of the list as space becomes available.


FAX OR MAIL REGISTRATION

  1. Complete the REGISTRATION FORM (Spanish) Fill out a separate application form for each child.

  2. Payment must accompany the registration form. Checks (payable to IMSA) or credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) are accepted. NO CASH PLEASE. (Please review our Refund Policy)
  3. Mail or Fax to IMSA: Mail the completed Registration Form along with payment to: Summer@IMSA, Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy, 1500 Sullivan Road, Aurora, IL 60506. You may also fax your completed application with credit card number to (630) 907-5880. NO PHONE APPLICATIONS will be accepted.

Your check will be returned, or your credit card will not be charged. If space becomes available, we will contact you.

Additional Information

IMSA programs are accessible to disabled individuals. State government policy prohibits discrimination based on race, sex, color, creed, religion, national origin, age and ancestry, sexual orientation, political affiliation or disability.

SCHOLARSHIPS:
IMSA actively seeks grants and gifts to support a scholarship program to provide educational enrichment experiences for students who might otherwise not be able to participate due to financial challenges. Scholarship applicants must be currently participating in the free or reduced lunch program as defined by the Federal government to qualify for a scholarship. IMSA offers full scholarships. Transportation to and from the program and any incidentals are not included in the scholarship award. Proof of health insurance and a $25.00 registration fee are required after the scholarship is awarded. Applicants may apply for only one scholarship per student. Scholarships are only available for Illinois residents.

To apply for a scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Form (Spanish) and submit with a completed Registration Form (Spanish). Scholarship forms must be received or postmarked by April 15, 2011.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If insufficient students register for a program, IMSA reserves the right to cancel that program. Parents will be notified 2 weeks prior to the start date of a program and a full refund will be given.

REFUND POLICY

If, after being accepted to a program, you choose to withdraw, please submit a written refund request. If it is received at IMSA on or before May 27, 2011, then you may be eligible for a partial refund up to 50% of registration fees paid. If you withdraw after May 27, 2011, no refund will be issued.
