How to Become a community Partner with Chicago Cares

Who We Are

Chicago Cares builds stronger communities in Chicago through volunteerism. We work closely with community leaders to identify and research critical needs. We then develop targeted programs and mobilize thousands of volunteers to address those needs.

Our programs make Chicago a better place to live for everyone. We inspire people to give of their time and energy, creating a real sense of community and shared responsibility.

Since 1991, Chicago Cares volunteers have completed more than 1.1 million hours of service through more than 25,000 group volunteer projects.

Become a Community Partner

What could your organization accomplish for our community if you were given the opportunity to utilize 10 volunteers every month? Every week?

What about 100 or more volunteers on one day?

Chicago Cares partners with community organizations, schools and parks to increase their capacity to be the solution to our real challenges facing our community. Our staff works with each partner to identify the most pressing needs and then creates and manges a project or series of projects that puts volunteers to work meeting those needs in an meaningful way. All projects are lead by trained Chicago Cares volunteers leaders and staffed by Chicago Cares volunteers.

If your school or non-profit organization is interested in becoming a Chicago Cares community program partner, it's easy to get started:

Chicago Cares staff will follow-up when an opportunity that matches the needs of your site is available. Although we cannot accommodate all community partner applications, we do review each application; the best way to be sure your site will be considered to is to have a current application on file with us.
